Inhaltsangabe: Drawing on their education and personal experiences, Heather Dean and Tom Benevento address both the practical and spiritual benefits of gardening. They have worked alongside the indigenous people of Central America, true caretakers of the earth, learning the craft of gardening to sustain and enrich both the earth and the soul. Using this knowledge they have creating community gardens that thrive amidst the urban landscape in North America. They now pass along their experiences in a practical and inspirational "how to" manual.

Social commentary, soil enrichment, global community, spiritual growth, recipes and children's activities all have a place within the pages. Lyrically written, with enchanting line drawings, this book inspires the reader to see the connection between humus and humanity, soil and soul, peonies and peace.
