Buchbeschreibung Ruddington Framework Knitter's Museum Trust, England, 1989. Soft cover. Buchzustand: Near Fine. No Jacket. Boyle, Audrey (illustrator). First Edition. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Light surface soil and creasing on glossy paperback covers, 48 pp text crisp and unmarked. Laid in is a fine condition, tri-fold pamphlet describing the Ruddington Framework Knitter's Museum. A very uncommon book, a collection of recipes preferred by Hannah (Fox) Parker, including many puddings, jams, jellies, biscuits as well as a meal for Thanksgiving & Independence Day. Hannah Fox of 42, 2nd Street, Philadelphia married John Parker of Ruddington, Nottingham, England, when he was in America in connection with his father's hosiery business. Because of the illness of John's father, William, they returned to Ruddington with their son, Stephen, who was born in PA in 1870. Their second son, John was baptized in Ruddington in 1871. Eight children were born during the family's years in Chapel Street, where John was in charge of the business built up by his father. Hannah remained loyal to her native country; she flew the Stars and Stripes from the bedroom window, each year on American Independence Day. Grandsons recalled the well stocked larder of jams and pickles at Chapel Street and "Grandma Hannah's thrift and ability as housewife and cook". They also recalled that "Plum pudding" was always served on July 4th. Hannah Parker died on February 11th 1933, having lived in Ruddington for almost 63 years, more than 50 of those years in Chapel Street. Buchnummer des Verkäufers 14965
