Über diesen Titel:

Inhaltsangabe: For more than 4 decades, Tharp has been a phenomenon in Amer. dance, a choreographer who not only broke the rules but refused to repeat her own successes. She has choreographed dances to jazz music, the Beach Boys with the Joffrey Ballet, Frank Sinatra, and classical music for the Amer. Ballet Theatre and Mikhail Baryshnikov. For her touring company in the 1970s and 1980s, she created a superb repertory. Tharp has made movies, TV specials, and nearly 100 dances. 'Movin' Out,' the dance show that reflected on the Vietnam era ran on Broadway for 3 years and won Tharp a Tony Award for Best Choreography. This is the story of a choreographer who refused to be pigeonholed and the dancers who accompanied her. Photos.

Klappentext: Advance Praise for Howling Near Heaven

"It's damn good. I recommend it."
---Paul Taylor

"Wordcraft meets dancecraft on equal terms in this unique biography. Siegel illuminates the life of a driven dancemaker by making the dances tell the tale. An astounding achievement."
---Bruce Marks, artistic director emeritus, Boston Ballet
