Jay has performed his works at the Abbey Theatre for the Yeats International Festival in Dublin, Ireland, and the Glistening Water Festival in New Zealand. He has also performed at London's National Theatre Complex; in Niger, Africa, The Hague; in Boston with the Boston Symphony; and at Lincoln Center in New York. In 1991, the National Endowment for the Arts awarded Jay a fellowship in the "solo theatrical performance" category.
