Inhaltsangabe: A rare book about finding the most important thing we all lose: time with those we love.

A lantern, a mixing bowl, everything they ever borrowed from the neighbors, even their dog Leopoldo -- Josey's absentminded parents lose EVERYTHING. Sometimes they even lose track of time when they promise to do something fun with Josey.

But then, with a big, rusty CLANK, a missing lantern falls out of the backyard tree, and suddenly Josey sees a way to solve her family's problems. It's going to take a lot of help, a little magic and a turbo-powered swing, but Josey might just have a shot at bringing the neighborhood -- and her family -- back together again.

Über den Autor: Joe Cepeda's boldly distinctive illustrations have accompanied the work of such fine authors as Gary Soto, Pam Muñoz Ryan, and Elizabeth Swados. In 2006, Cepeda became an author himself with the publication of The Swing - the first picture book he has both written and illustrated. "When I work on a picture book, I like to concentrate on color, shape, and people. I try to surrender to what the story is calling for," Cepeda says. "I try not to illustrate just the words, but to write my own story in pictures, one that compliments the manuscript and is in harmony with it. I think the best illustration does that." Cepeda speaks about his work to children and adults at schools, conferences, and other venues. He currently lives in Southern California with his wife and son.
