Buch Erstausgabe
Hardcover. Zustand: Near Fine. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: Near Fine dj. Illustrated by (dj design) Mike McIver (illustrator). First Edition. [a touch of spotting to edges of text block, no significant wear; jacket shows only light surface wear]. (B&W photographs) Like the subtitle says: a memoir of by one-half of one of Hollywood's great husband-and-wife screenwriting teams (the author's other half having predeceased him). Their daughter, Nora Ephron, reminisces warmly about her mother in the book's Epilogue -- although later on the truth emerged (acknowledged quite openly by Nora and her sisters) about Henry and Phoebe's troubled marriage, and exposed the book as something of a whitewash. A 2013 Salon article, which appeared after Nora's death, calls the book "seductive and strange," and cites Henry's "devastating infidelity" to Phoebe as well as Phoebe's "full-bore drinking" which eventually led to her hospitalization for cirrhosis.

The eulogy which Nora Ephron, their oldest daughter, gave at her mother's funeral is included as an epilogue to this book. Illustrated with photographs. 211 pp. Very good in near fine dust jacket (tape ghosts on boards, lower corner of front endpaper torn).
