Soft cover. Zustand: Good. Softcover. Blue paper wraps with black lettering. Full title: "Elizabethan England in Gentle and Simple Life. Being I. England's Address to her Three Daughters, the Universities of Cambridge and Oxford, and Lincoln's Inn: from Polimanteia, 1595. II. A Quest of Enquirie by Women to know whether the Tripe-woman was trimmed, 1595." Part II only. 177 pages. In good condition. Covers are toned, but lettering remains clear and readable. Appears as though title was lightly written in pen along spine. A bit of shelf-wear along edges of covers and along head and foot of spine, causing a bit of chipping to paper at those spots. Front cover and spine have come detached from binding, but both remain attached by back cover. Binding otherwise appears secure; no loose pages from text block. Although outside appearance is more worn, pages are free of marks or tears throughout. Text remains quite bright and readable.

It is not unknowne (right vertuous) amongst the wise, the Jillie Oaten winded by a rurall Shepheard, vnder a sliadowing Hawthorne, sprouting on a champion mountaine, hath beene as highly esteemed, as the curious strained Lute, sounded by the cunning Mujiaan in the nicest chamber of the Court of the mojl potentate Princes, and that a Jillie braunch rest from an Oliue tree, hath beene as acceptable, as the most precious perle dragd from the sands of the Ocean. Then, seeing the zeale lyeth not in the gift, but in the giuer: IJhall entreat you as gratefully accept this my Treatise, as I deliuer it, not for the worth, but as a testimonie of the zeale and duety from me belonging, which so long time I hauejludied how to manifest. And thus hoping there Jkall be nothing herein construed contrarie to my Jlmple meaning, neither my presumption held in disdaine, I end, though not forgetting my bounden ditetie to your VVorskipfull Parent and my very good friend, to whom if this my Pamphlet may cause mirth, as an Arbour lest, it hath his dejire and my Hopes accomplished.
