The book's photographs and measured drawings provide a remarkably comprehensive record of the historic Bank of England building with its courtyards, halls and public rooms designed by Soane, Cockerell and Sir Robert Taylor (and effectively obliterated by Sir Herbert Baker). 4to. v + (1) + 30 + (2)pp, 75 photo plates, 21 sheets of measured drawings, some folding. Publisher?s cloth, the back cover slightly scraped with minor loss of surface (but the copy otherwise in good condition). Gavin Stamp?s copy, with his bookplate.
