Four volumes, 12mo (borderline 16mo at exactly 6 3/4"), calf, probably rebacked (matched to original boards) with 5 raised bands and debossed gilt titling to spines. 304, 330, 288, 347 pp. Fits descr. of 1749 edition but has MDCCL [1750] on the title page. Rear endpaper of v.1 appears replaced; others period laid paper. Aside from some age-toning and occasional light foxing, light bumping and minor chipping to the corner edges, an exceptionally clean and handsome set. Leather is supple, not dried out.
