THE ILLUSTRATED LONG WALK TO FREEDOM, Limited Edition (of only 425 copies) SIGNED in FINE Condition.
Buchbeschreibung: Little, Brown and Company, 1996. Buchzustand: Fine. Limited. A magnificent strictly limited edition of Nelson Mandela's brilliant autobiography and his most famous work. Quarter bound by hand in wassa goatskin leather from South Africa and housed in a custom made, silk-lined presentation box complete with a silk ribbon bookmark. The edition includes a specially commissioned portrait of the great man taken by Benny Gool which is SIGNED and DATED by Mandela. This beautiful volume is filled with numerous colour illustrations and all edges are gilt. Unlike some other 'limited' Mandela works with print runs of 1000 or more, this copy is reassuringly exclusive - number 220 of merely 425 copies. Widely regarded among collectors as THE edition to own, its price has thus risen sharply over the past decade and there is nothing to suggest that prices have peaked. Typically, in some other copies the signed and dated photographs of Mandela have been separated and framed. This volume is fully complete and in excellent, fine condition throughout including the original glassine paper protecting the signed photograph, and indeed the original shipping box. Fabulous.
