Softcover. Zustand: Very Good. "Second Draft / August 30 1995." 135pp. Quarto sheets bradbound with three machine perforated holes and two brads. Near fine with wear and waviness to the first sheet (only). An early draft of the Oscar nominated screenplay and film starring Matt Damon as Tom Ripley and Jude Law as Dickie Greenleaf, as well as Gwyneth Paltrow, Cate Blanchett, and Philip Seymour Hoffman. While a complete study of this screenplay would likely yield numerous differences from the final film, a cursory looked notes an unfilmed opening scene of Ripley posing as a handwriting expert to fleece a rich woman and the initial meeting with Dickie Greenleaf's father (which sets the plot in motion) taking place in a seedy bar like the book, instead of a glamorous New York City penthouse garden of the film. Uncommon. *OCLC* locates two copies of this second edition and none of the first.
