Complete run of the rare and influential post-war avant-garde journal, published from 1963 to 1968 under the editorial direction of Riewert Q. Tode and Hartmut K?nig, offering cutting-edge poetry, prose, and criticism, some of which was informed by radical politics, presented in a rough-hewn, experimental manner, with most of the writings in mimeographed typescript, some in the hand of the author, and some in various other formats including abstract concrete poems, accompanied by numerous original graphic works (some in color), many signed by the artists. Each issue published in a limited edition, ranging from 70 to 200 copies. The final issue, a letterpress-printed anthology of poems against the Vietnam War, was printed in a larger run, but included here is an issue from the limited run of 200 copies featuring an original print by Cloy (Klaus-Ove) Kahrmann. Tode's ambitious journal reflects the tumultuous mood of the mid-1960's as well as the influence of the American Beat movement. Literary contributors include U. Raschke, Tim Ulrichs, K. D. Goerdeler, P. G. H?bsch, V. Scherliess, V. Braun, and Ingo Cesaro; the graphics are by Jochen-Harro Bierzunski, Karl-Ove Kahrmann, Tim Ulrichs, Jane Balsgaard, Norbert Richter, and others. Issue three was a special bilingual issue devoted to Flemish and Dutch poetry and prose, and issue six was an early attempt to showcase the writing and artwork of psychiatric ward patients: the editors printed actual texts, including one original manuscript snippet, and the limited run of this issue (included here) also contained an original pencil artwork by an inmate. Presented in various formats, mostly on rough paper with mimeographed typescript to rectos only; the exception is no. 7-8, which is a perfect-bound anthology of writings by 39 authors, all against the war in Vietnam. As of January 2024, KVK and OCLC locate four complete runs in North America. Soft cover. Zustand: Fine. Güttinger , P. (1932). "Das Verhalten von Atomen im magnetischen Drehfeld". In: Zeitschrift für Physik, vol 73 (3 4), pp 169 184 in the issue of pp 139-280. Original wrappers. Lovely copy.__+__ This is Niels Bohr's copy, with his name printed at the top right. __+__ "The Hellmann-Feynman theorem has an illustrious albeit somewhat complicated lineage, which includes three Nobel Laureates. The key relationship was reported by Schrödinger in one of his landmark 1926 papers, by Güttinger [who took his Ph.D. at ETH Zurich under Scherrer and Pauli in 1932] in 1932 and by both Pauli and Hellmann in 1933. Feynman presented it, apparently independently, in 1939. It was Hellmann and Feynman who arrived separately at one of the best known consequences of the theorem, which is presumably why their names are attached to it. Over the years, the approval rating of the Hellmann-Feynman theorem has fluctuated wildly. In a 1945 paper, Coulson and Bell concluded that it was invalid; however, Berlin rescued it in 1951.He also showed how the theorem could be used to obtain insight into bonding forces in molecules, an approach that Bader et al. followed successfully a few years later. In 1962, Wilson used the theorem to derive an exact formula for molecular energies. Nevertheless, Musher claimed in 1966 that many find the theorem to be too trivial to merit the term theorem . Yet only six years later, no less an authority than Slater proclaimed the Hellmann-Feynman theorem to be one of the two most powerful theorems applicable to molecules and solids , the other being the virial theorem. --Politzer, P., Murray, J.S. "The Hellmann-Feynman theorem: a perspective", J Mol Model 24, 266 (2018).__+__ In quantum mechanics, the Hellmann Feynman theorem relates the derivative of the total energy with respect to a parameter, to the expectation value of the derivative of the Hamiltonian with respect to that same parameter. According to the theorem, once the spatial distribution of the electrons has been determined by solving the Schrödinger equation, all the forces in the system can be calculated using classical electrostatics. The theorem has been proven independently by many authors, including Paul Güttinger (1932), Wolfgang Pauli (1933), Hans Hellmann (1937), and Richard Feynman (1939) [The Feynman contribution appears in his first published paper, Forces in Molecules , in the PR in 1939.]--Wikipedia. It was published from October 1924 as a continuation of the satirical magazine «Krasnyy voron» ("Red Raven"), until August 1928, when it merged with the humorous newspaper "Pushka". Between 1924and 1926, this publication was printed on 16 pages, with one-color illustrations. From 1927 it was printed on 12 pages, with various colorful illustrations. -- The editors have worked towards expanding communication with the workers' activists. The task was set to create a magazine of real worker satire. In this way, the appearance of the magazine differed significantly from "Red Raven": both externally and in terms of content. The main objects of satire were "fools", bureaucrats of all stripes, bunglers, nepmen, priests, kulaks, moonshiners, swindlers, hooligans and other negative characters of Soviet reality. ||Alexander Alexandrovich Jünger (aka Yunger), born in 1883, in St. Petersburg, comes from a Russified German family. His father was associated with the Richter trading company, and he had two brothers, Vladimir and Nikolai. He pursued his secondary education in Petrishul, concurrently becoming a student at the drawing school of the Society for the Encouragement of the Arts while in high school. Graduating from both institutions in 1902, he later attended the Institute of Civil Engineers, earning a gold medal upon graduation in 1914. Subsequently, Jünger augmented his education at the Academy of Arts, joining the studio of the renowned architect L. N. Benois. Due to financial constraints, he worked as an architect, staying in Benois's workshop until 1917. Evacuated to Ekaterinodar during the 1918 upheavals, he later became a teacher at the Kuban Polytechnic Institute in Krasnodar. Junger continued his architectural pursuits in the south, contributing to the development of the cities of Krasnodar and Novorossiysk. Upon returning to Leningrad in 1925, Jünger engaged in industrial structure design. He participated in numerous architectural competitions across different cities, winning prizes for 11 projects. In the late 1920s, he began teaching at the Leningrad Institute of Municipal Construction Engineers, eventually becoming a professor in 1930. In 1934, Junger assumed leadership of workshop No. 7 at the Lenproekt" institute, concurrently writing articles and collaborating with the Union of Architects. His workshop focused on school projects, leading to the construction of several schools in Leningrad. Notable projects under his guidance included the hospital complex named after Mechnikov and buildings for various institutes. The outbreak of the Great Patriotic War interrupted Junger's active career. Surviving the initial siege winter, he was arrested on March 2, 1942, based on a false accusation. Although initially sentenced to death, clemency was granted, substituting the punishment with 10 years in the camps. Alexander Alexandrovich Jünger passed away on August 13, 1948. He worked as an artist/illustrator for the magazines "Sprut", "Satyricon", "New Satyricon" (1905 1918), for the publishing house "Modern Lubok" (1917), in the group "ROSTA Windows" (1919), for the magazines "Behemoth", "Pushka" ", "The Inspector General", "The Laugher" (1920s). He also participated in the creation of the first Soviet theater for children in Krasnodar (early 1920s); was engaged in the design of buildings in Voronezh, Krasnodar, Leningrad, Murmansk, Novorossiysk and other Russian cities. In the late 1920s, he began teaching at the Leningrad Institute of Municipal Construction Engineers, eventually becoming a professor in 1930. . .
