Reseña del editor:
Florida isn’t the only place with nuts coming out of the trees... Tropical wannabe and suburban refugee Jackson Poe is having a very strange week. It begins with a sexually frustrated sea lion and ends with the spirit of Steve McQueen dispensing karmic justice on the coastal streets of Surfland, Oregon. In between, a nudist mascot, a pissed off young woman and a lottery ticket gone horribly right team up to make the streets safe for little old ladies. A thriller in the finest South Florida tradition, the "Dave Barry... of Oregon," Barton Grover Howe, presents a hilarious rain of weirdness on America’s wettest edge.
Biografía del autor:
Barton Grover Howe is a high school teacher and humor columnist who has spent most of the last 10 years teaching, being a mascot and generally not being near as funny as he thinks he is. He currently resides in a small town on the Oregon coast within shouting distance of Surfland. Prior to washing up on the beach in Oregon, Howe spend 10 years with CADA: Career Attention Deficit Disorder. Always finding something more interesting to do after a few months on the job, Howe worked as a valet, hotel manager and skiiing moose for Vail Resorts, a tour coordinator for Feld Entertainment, and even served for brief as the dinosaur mascot for the Colorado Rockies Major League Baseball team. In the middle of all that, however, he found time to be Max the Dog in "The Little Mermaid" production of Disney On Ice. Touring the world and nation, he went to 48 states, more than a dozen nations, and even had time to get run over by a bus in Vancouver, British Columbia. Following a lay-off brought on by being the only non-skater on an ice-skating show, Howe returned to graduate school at the University of Missouri where he got a masters degree in journalism. While there he won many writing awards, as well as being crowned the NCA National Champion mascot as Truman the Tiger. Today, he continues to dress as furry animals, be married and be a father -- sometimes simultaneously -- with his family on the beach in Oregon. He is very happy.
