He grinned and attempted to take her hand. She repulsed him more sharply than ever, and the cloud cam( back to his face more dark than it had been before. "You're a trifler," he snarled; "a vain, wicked girl. Why can't you like me a little, Hittie?" ' I think it is because you are not likeable, Mr. McClung. You are acting the part of a craven bully now, and if you do not wish me to hate you, you will say no more about marriage, but conduct me home at the earliest possible moment.
