After the gutter is lined and the top lock is soldered water tight a galvanized iron brace is screwed to the roof boards and into the plank to the front of the gutter, as shown. The method of bending these braces was fully explained in a previous chapter. Having now explained how the work is to be constructed and put up, we are in a better position to take the measurements and obtain the patterns. OBTAINING MEASUREMENTS AND PATTERNS.
