Reseña del editor:
The major mystical traditions of the world all speak of various paths. The process of becoming a mystic is a journey into Consciousness and every journey requires a path. But mysticism is not only about the pursuit of knowledge; it is a response to the crisis of existence. The questions that mysticism attempts to answer are not merely theoretical ones. They are real, existential ones that come from grappling with the contradictions of existence. Life is not a sedate classroom. It rushes at one like a mad bull. It is a place of joy and pain. A world of paradox. There are three principal ways that one can respond to this crisis of existence. One can follow a non-spiritual life. One can take refuge in an organized religion or one can be a ‘spiritual outsider’ following an individual path. Although this book is aimed at all spiritual seekers it is especially written for those in the third group, the ‘spiritual outsider’. This will help you to find your spiritual voice, Overcome dogma. Embrace your individuality. And attain mystical knowledge through self-enquiry.
Biografía del autor:
Born in Cape Town, Gad Kaplan attended UCT where he holds a post-graduate degree in Comparative Mysticism. He started writing about wine at the end of 2000 and has since written on a freelance basis for The Cape Times and the Mail & Guardian and WINE.CO.ZA, Grape and Leadership magazine. At one stage he was the main wine writer for Highbury Monarch Communications where he wrote for Equinox and American Express. Gad sees himself as an intellectual wine writer rather than a news wine writer. In between his wine writing career he also took time off in 2004 and 2009 to write two books on mysticism.
