This work is a factual, historical record of the life and achievements of the people of the Marriaqua valley, St. Vincent & the Grenadines, throughout the twentieth century.

Biografía del autor:

George Levi Bailey, a citizen of Marriaqua, St. Vincent & the Grenadines, was born in 1933. He lived all his life as an Educator and a Social worker for which he was awarded the M.B.E. by Queen Elizabeth II in 1996. He was responsible for the introduction of rural secondary schools throughout the country of St. Vincent & the Grenadines, with a bias towards Comprehensive Education, after being trained at the Erdiston Teachers' College in Barbados, the University of Nottingham in England, and the University of the West Indies in Jamaica. Moving and living throughout the Caribbean as Chief Scout Commissioner and a church leader of the Roman Catholic Church, enabled him to obtain the types of experiences that are aptly suited for comparisons, and hence his continued reference to Eastern Caribbean life. He is married to Eileen, his wife of forty-nine years, herself a trained teacher and retired school Principal. They are proud parents and grandparents of three sons, a daughter, and several grandchildren; who themselves are pleased to be involved in the preparation of this book as a legacy to the memory of their father.
