Edwin P. MacNicoll overcame illiteracy to become a realtor and nationally recognized appraiser. The author of the real estate appraisal course Historic Appraising, he went on to achieve the title of certified general appraiser-the highest appraisal designation in the country. MacNicoll then served as national president for one of the largest real estate appraisal organizations in the country.
