Kristin Mason is a middle school history teacher in Peoria, IL. She wrote this book after discovering that the history textbook was copyrighted 1998 and thus did not mention the 9/11 attack. The other history textbook devoted 1/2 a page to the topic. She could not find a nonfiction book targeted to middle school students that she liked, and she did not want students surfing the net for information and seeing graphing images and stories, so she wrote this book. She hopes other teachers can benefit from her work.
