These sixty mostly humorous stories are based on childhood memories from the 1940s through the early 1960s. They are generously illustrated with photographs dating back to the early twentieth century taken by a family of professional photographers. Where photographs are not available, the author/artist has supplemented her memories with watercolors created specifically for this publication. The book’s generous size, 8 X 10, provides an excellent format for appreciating the illustrations. If a picture is worth a thousand words, about three hundred thousand words have been omitted from this publication.

Biografía del autor:

A native of Corpus Christi, Texas, Barbara, Professor Emeritus, taught art history and history at the university level, retiring after twenty-five years at Cameron University. She attended colleges in four states, earning a BA at Queens College, and Master's and PhD at the University of Oklahoma.
