Wayne A. Bibbs, born in Detroit, Michigan, in 1962, discovered at an early age how critical people can be. Described as a very intelligent, kind-hearted, and respectful child, Wayne noticed that the first (and often only) thing noticed about him was his girth. The lesson Wayne learned in his youth is the lesson he attempts to share in this book: Regardless of your outer appearance, love and appreciate yourself because you cannot count on others to do it. Wayne was fortunate to find a woman who loves and encourages him: his wife, Aleen. He credits her with providing the necessary support to publish this book and tell his story.
