This version of the History of the Town of Sutton Massachusetts from 1704 to 1876 is a labor of love by Sutton resident Lisa Shea. Lisa has lived in Sutton since 1996 and has run a genealogical website for Sutton since those early days. She has answered thousands of questions from visitors around the world on her SuttonMass.org website. One of her personal quests was to get the classic 850-page tome, History of Sutton, fully online and annotated in an accurate, useful manner. The book has a wealth of genealogical data, personal stories, and historical gems. This print book version is currently 737 pages long with 9-point type to make it fit within Amazon's 740-page-max requirement and still be readable. It has all the text of the original with all images placed optimally throughout. The footnotes are integrated into their proper locations in the text. Even the errata are integrated, with full notes in place about each change. Where other versions of this book are chock-full of typos and issues, including in the genealogical data and dates (!!), Lisa made an enormous effort to vet the results. She knows how important accuracy is in a document like this. Note that the information presented here is for more than just about Sutton. The official title of this book was: "HISTORY Of the Town of Sutton, MASSACHUSETTS, From. 1704 to 1876; INCLUDING GRAFTON UNTIL 1735; MILLBURY UNTIL 1813; AND PARTS OF NORTHBRIDGE, UPTON AND AUBURN." So there's quite a lot of information here that other towns will find useful! You should be provided free access to the accompanying ebook with this purchase, so you can easily perform full-text searches and find exactly what you seek. Lisa will be adding in her own color photos and details about the present state of Sutton, based on your suggestions, so that this can become even more useful going forward. Lisa has adored Sutton since she first moved here in 1996. She has been the genealogy contact since then, as well as answering numerous historical questions about the town via her website, SuttonMass.org. She is pleased to be able to offer this book as a way for more people to learn about this wonderful town. All proceeds from this sale benefit local battered women’s shelters. Lisa has written 39 fiction books, 79 non-fiction books, and 36 short stories.
