Biografía del autor:

Marie LaMar McKinney grew up in a rather isolated environment where her imagination was free to wander. She and her sister got an electric typewriter for Christmas and it called her name. She wrote her first novel at age thirteen. Thirty years later, she found, re-read, then burned it. She turned her creativity to painting and other art forms and enjoyed some success while a member of the Topeka Art Guild. She's had private showings and her artwork is in a number of states but writing has become her passion. She and her husband owned a successful retail food service until her husband's illness and subsequent death. Ms. McKinney was graduated cum laude from Washburn University with a BFA, then earned her Masters degree in Art Therapy (cum laude) from Emporia State University. She is a lifetime member of Psi Chi, the National Honor Society in Psychology. Ms. McKinney was employed by the State of Kansas as a counselor for the blind and visually impaired. Having come from a family with blindness, she served with passion and dedication. She is now retired and enjoys life on her small acreage outside Mayetta, Kansas. Ms. McKinney has two children, six grandchildren and one great-grandson.
