Reseña del editor:
About the Contributor(s): Dimity Knight lives in Adelaide with her partner, Ken, and three of her four children. Stuart, the youngest, has autism. He was fifteen years old when these poems were published. Dimity is working on her Masters in Creative Writing at Tabor Adelaide and also cares for her son. In the past, she worked as a Speech Pathologist, including a period helping families set up home-based education programs for their children with autism. She convened a support group for families dealing with autism from 2003 until 2007. Writing was initially a way for Dimity to escape the emotional demands of autism, allowing headspace to explore the alternative worlds of art, music and literature. She never imagined that she would want to write about autism - a condition that threatened to overwhelm her and her family for many years. But with time came adjustment and gratitude for the richness that her son has brought to her life, reflected in these poems.
