Críticas:
This magnificent book is a sumptuous collection of photographs and artwork of all the armoured vehicles made in France from the beginning of the Great War to the disastrous days of 1940. The pages are informative and attractive and I am not phased by knowing the allure of tank porn is in full effect here. ... I am not sure I am allowed to put a book from last summer into my "best of" pile for 2015, but as it"s my train set I may well do so. I love this book from first to last and while others I reviewed have found their way into the libraries of my mates, this one is going nowhere. Sorry lads. * War History Online 13/04/2015 * Personally, just the book I dreamed of to have for a one-stop reference for French armoured vehicles from both WW1 and early in WWII. This is definitely on my 'Highly Recommended' list for any armour enthusiast to keep on your reference bookcase. * Military Model Scene 02/03/2015 * This book serves as a good reference book in encyclopedia style and functions as an entertaining look into the history of French tanks 1900 to 1940 with great profiles and some pictures I have never seen before as well as time tables showing the development along with an introduction for each section. * Armorama *
Reseña del editor:
France, alongside Great Britain, was the birthplace of a new weapon which was to revolutionise warfare: the tank. Preceding the arrival of the tank the turn of the twentieth-century saw the earliest development of armoured weapons with the invention of the armoured cars and armoured fighting vehicles. Covering the period of the Great War to the beginning of the Second World War this fully comprehensive encyclopedia includes: the hundred principal types of tanks and armoured cars and over 200 variants such as troop transports, bomb-disposal vehicles etc.. The concise text, precise genealogical tables, technical data on the most important machines, copious illustrations (including contemporary photographs and superb colour profiles) render this volume an indispensable work of reference for the tank fan. About the Author Francis Vauvillier, editor of war magazine Guerre, Blindes et Materiel, is the recognised expert on the French army.
