Biografía del autor:
Dr Maxi Scherer is a Senior Lecturer in International Arbitration and Energy at Queen Mary University of London and a Special Counsel at Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP in London. Maxi has extensive experience with arbitral practice and procedure both in civil and common law systems. She has represented and advised clients in over 50 international arbitration proceedings before most major arbitral institutions and has served as arbitrator (presiding, co- and sole arbitrator) in over 20 ad hoc and institutional arbitrations (LCIA, ICC, HKIAC, etc.). Maxi is a tenured faculty member at the School of International Arbitration, Queen Mary, University of London, and the Director of Queen Marys Paris LLM programme (http://www.law.qmul.ac.uk/postgraduate/llmparis). Other academic appointments include Global Professor at New York University (NYU) Law School, Visiting Professor at Sciences Po Law School Paris, Adjunct Professor at the Georgetown Center for Transnational Legal Studies, as well as visiting positions at the University of Melbourne, Freie Universität Berlin, Sorbonne Law School, Université de Versailles, Université de Fribourg, Universität Würzburg, Pepperdine Law School, Universität Basel and Université de Paris X Nanterre. Lisa M. Richman is a partner at McDermott Will & Emery LLP in Washington, D.C. Her practice focuses on dispute resolution (including international and domestic arbitrations and litigations) in civil and common law jurisdictions, with a particular emphasis on international commercial arbitration and public international law. Complimenting her dispute resolution expertise, Lisa also has managed internal investigations world-wide and has helped a variety of companies resolve government investigations, including World Bank Sanctions proceedings. Lisa has represented clients in a variety of industries, with a particular focus on disputes relating to energy, oil and gas, infrastructure, securities, telecommunications, joint ventures and construction. Her clients have included companies, individuals and governments in a wide range of international commercial and investment treaty arbitrations. Lisas work has included disputes conducted under the ICC, ICSID, LCIA, AAA/ICDR, HKIAC, DIS, Swiss and UNCITRAL Rules. She is currently handling cases with an aggregate volume in dispute of approximately USD 10 billion. Dr Remy Gerbay divides his time between private practice as Of Counsel at Enyo Law LLP in London and his academic activities at the School of International Arbitration, Queen Mary, University of London. Remy also frequently sits as arbitrator. He has been appointed as co-arbitrator, sole arbitrator and presiding arbitrator in ad hoc and institutional arbitrations (LCIA, ICC, KIAC). As the former Deputy Registrar of the LCIA and former Registrar of DIFC-LCIA in Dubai, Remy has particular expertise in LCIA arbitration. Remy has also extensive experience of ICC, ICSID, UNCITRAL and ad hoc arbitration. Remy is qualified as an Attorney (State of New York) and as a Solicitor (England and Wales). He holds a French law degree with high honours from the University of Lyon (Jean Moulin), a Masters degree from the University of Geneva (Graduate Institute), an LL.M. from Georgetown University (Deans List, Fulbright Scholar) and a PhD from Queen Mary, University of London. Remy is a co-Chair of the LCIAs Young International Arbitration Group (YIAG). He is also a member of the Georgetown European Law Advisory Board, and a member of the LCIA, the Fulbright Association, the British Fulbright Scholars Association, the CFA-40, ICC-YAF and Young ICCA.
