Trade paperback, appears to be issued the same year as the limited edition (of 100), pp. [192]. Purple illustrated wrappers. Spine sunned. Creased and significantly rubbed. Tanned, a few marks to the copyright page, ink spot to p. 131, a few dog-eared pages. Else, clean and tidy. During the 1950s (?) and '60s, Presses de la Cité issued Simenon's trade titles with the same wraparound illustration of Maigret in silhouette, smoking his pipe, set against a variety of background colours.
