Artikelbeschreibung des Verkäufers

On offer is an original manuscript letter handwritten by Henri Georges Stephane Adolphe Opper de Blowitz [1825-1903] the noted Bohemian journalist. He was born to a Jewish family at Blovice [Blowitz] in Bohemia, and left home at the age of fifteen to travel, acquiring a wide range of languages in the process. Dated 1893, 2 pp. 4 x 6 inches. This letter is addressed to Mr. [Harry H.] McClure who was the man noted for first bringing Willa Cather's writings to his cousin's attention after she had been repeatedly rejected by the editors of McClure's. He left his position of managing editor during the mass resignations in 1906 and joined the staff of American Magazine with the other former McClure employees. Blowitz says he was surprised to see the advertisement for the publication of his article intended for your American Review. Light staining at the slight split in the fold, otherwise G.…
