Inhaltsangabe: The St. Louis World's Fair of 1904 -- in rare color images... A hundred years after the 1803 Louisiana Purchase doubled the size of the United States, a World's Fair -- the Louisiana Purchase Exposition -- was held in St. Louis, Missouri, to commemorate the event. Photographer T.W. Ingersoll documented the 1904 fair with his stereoscopic camera. A hundred of his photographs, originally published as a set, are now shown in color, along with postcard images and rare black and white photos of the fair.
Über den Autor: Prize-winning photographer and artist Michael W. Lemberger (www.mlemberger.com) is the author of books on photography (Focus on Photos) and history (Ottumwa Iowa). As a newspaper photographer, he won more than 100 awards for photographic excellence. His collection of historic photographs has been called the most extensive and best-documented privately-held collection in the world. He and his wife, award-winning author Leigh Michaels, have been fans of the St. Louis World's Fair since they honeymooned on the site of the fair in 1975.
