Paperback. Zustand: New. From the author of Mere Christianity, the greatest Christian thinker of our time offers an answer to one of the fundamental questions of faith: why must we suffer? 'If God is good and all powerful, why does he allow his characters to suffer pain?' And what about animals, who neither deserve pain nor can be improved by it? With his signature wealth of compassion and insight, C. S. Lewis sets out to disentangle these knotty issues. We are all likely to encounter or endure suffering at some point in our lives.
