In the original Publisher's unclipped dust-jacket, with the usual light fading to a lighter brown base, not affecting titling, decoration or anything else. Internally FINE with NO Inscriptions or Marks. However the reason for down-grading this copy from Very Good Plus is that both the cloth spine and the dust-jacket have a circa 1 cm slit from the top centre. BOTH have now been neatly repaired and the dust-jacket is now in a new protective clear - removable - bookfilm plastic cover and the book looks Near Fine. Top page edge (dusty) light brown. The lower half of the page fore edges have some very light speckled foxing spots o/w the book is Very Clean Tight and Bright. Facsimile Letter by Tolkien as Frontispiece. (xii , incl.
