K. ELAYN MARTIN-GAY has taught mathematics at the University of New Orleans for more than 20 years. Her numerous teaching awards include the local University Alumni Association's Award for Excellence in Teaching, and Outstanding Developmental Educator at University of New Orleans, presented by the Louisiana Association of Developmental Educators. Elayn is the author of an entire product line of highly successful textbooks. The Martin-Gay library includes the successful worktext series made up of Basic College Mathematics, Prealgebra 3e, Introductory Algebra, and Intermediate Algebra. Martin-Gay's exciting new hardbound series includes Beginning Algebra 3e; Intermediate Algebra 3e, Intermediate Algebra, A Graphing Approach 2e (co-authored with Margaret Greene), and Beginning and Intermediate Algebra 2e, a combined algebra text. Prior to writing textbooks, Elayn developed an acclaimed series of lecture videos to support developmental mathematics students in their quest for success. These highly successful videos originally served as the foundation material for her texts. Today the tapes specifically support each book in the Martin-Gay series.
