Margaret Drabble is marriage to the biographer Michael Holroyd and lives in London. She has written several novels, most recently The Witch of Exmoor (1996) and biographies of Arnold Bennett and Angus Wilson, as well as being the editor of the The Oxford Companion to English Literature. She was awarded the CBE 1980.
