Inhaltsangabe

Anthony Trollope's 19th century world of greed and dishonesty comes to life on BBC1 this Autumn. Set in London during the 1870's rail boom, interweaving stories of sex and money capture the turmoil created as the old order is swept aside by the brash new forces of business and finance. Melmotte is the financier at the centre of it all, encapsulating the raw energy and charisma of the most powerful city in the world - and the greed and corruption that lay just below its glittering surface.
