Nina Bawden is one of today's greatest writers, writing for both children and adults. She studied philosophy, politics and economics at Somerville College, Oxford, and finished her first novel the year after she took her degree. She won the GuardianFiction Prize for THE PEPPERMINT PIG, and wrote CARRIE'S WAR which has become a modern classic. Nina Bawden lives in Islington, London and in Greece.
