Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

Dr. Ravi M. Gupta is the Charles Redd Professor of Religious Studies and Department Head of History at Utah State University. Ravi completed his doctoral degree at Oxford University and subsequently taught at the University of Florida, Centre College, and the College of William and Mary. He is the author, co-author, or editor of five books, including an abridged translation of the Bhagavata Purana (with Kenneth Valpey). Ravi has received four teaching awards, four research fellowships, and a book award. He is a Permanent Research Fellow of the Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies and a former president of the Society for Hindu Christian Studies. He lectures widely on topics related to Vaishnava Hinduism, Vedanta philosophy, and interfaith dialogue.


Dr. Jeffery D. Long is the Carl W. Zeigler Professor of Religion, Philosophy, and Asian Studies at Elizabethtown College, in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania. He received his PhD from the University of Chicago Divinity School in the year 2000. He is the author, editor, or co-editor of eleven books, including Hinduism in America: A Convergence of Worlds, which won an award in 2022. He has also received an award from the International Ahimsa Foundation and an award for Research Excellence from Elizabethtown College. He has spoken three times at the United Nations and appears in documentaries for PBS and the History Channel.
