Críticas:
A well structured piece, in one of the excellent styles we have come to expect from Mr Chilcott, and which are always a pleasure to play and sing. (Henry Howell, Australian Music Teacher March 2002)
It has a beautiful simplicity and melodic charm that will again prove attractive . . . this setting could be successfully attempted by an average school or church ensemble. . . The work as a whole offers charm, originality and simplicity and I am certain that this will find a place in the repertoire of many choirs. (Music Teacher March 2002)
His music, possesses the winning combination of melodic beauty, harmonic attractiveness, imaginative textures and thematic development, which together form an immediately appealing style reaching across the age barrier in any choir. These are beautifully crafted, delightful little gems which will be enjoyed by everyone. Though three-part division is occasionally necessary, the parts are very singable, not hard, and will rapidly be learned. (Organists' Review August 2001)
Bob Chilcott as an ex-member of and arranger for the King's Singers, knows how to write a good tune. This is most in evidence in two short anthems for upper voices - 'Irish Blessing' and 'Loving Shepherd' - both of which would admirably suit a children's choir of moderate ability. Church Times 12 October 2001
Reseña del editor:
for SSS and keyboard This is a beautiful, simple, and memorable tune supported by a distinctive organ ostinato in 5/8 time. It combines all the immediacy and freshness of a folksong with the deep spiritual sincerity of an anthem. The vocal writing is both imaginative and easy.
