Over the past two decades, the study of social movements has emerged as one of the largest, most intellectually vibrant subfields in American sociology. Doug McAdam is Professor of Sociology at Stanford University and former Director of the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences.
David A. Snow is a Chancellor's Professor of Sociology at the University of California, Irvine.
