His previous publications include Aesthetics and Subjectivity, from Kant to Nietzsche (Manchester University Press, 2003), Introduction to German Philosophy from Kant to Habermas (Polity, 2003), and Music, Philosophy, and Modernity (Cambridge University Press, 2007). He is also a jazz saxophonist.
