Kernighan was a member of the Computing Science Research Center at Bell Labs and is currently a professor in the Computer Science department at Princeton. He is the co-creator of several programming languages and the co-author of numerous books, including the computing classic, The C Programming Language. Peter J. Weinberger, currently at Google, has served as chief technology officer at Renaissance Technologies and as leader of computer science research at Bell Labs. He is a Fellow of the AAAS.

Von der hinteren Coverseite

With this text, you gain an understanding of the fundamental concepts of algorithms, the very heart of computer science. It introduces the basic data structures and programming techniques often used in efficient algorithms. Covers use of lists, push-down stacks, queues, trees, and graphs. Later chapters go into sorting, searching and graphing algorithms, the string-matching algorithms, and the Schonhage-Strassen integer-multiplication algorithm. Provides numerous graded exercises at the end of each chapter.
