Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

Florence L. Denmark is the Robert Scott Pace Distinguished Research Professor at Pace University. A social psychologist who has published extensively on the psychology of women and gender, Professor Denmark has long been an energetic force in advancing psychology internationally. She served as the 88th president of the American Psychological Association and has been a president of the International Council of Psychologists, Eastern Psychological Association, New York State Psychological Association, and Psi Chi. She was also a vice-president of the New York Academy of Sciences. Professor Denmark has four honorary doctorates and is the recipient of many awards, including APA's Distinguished Contributions to Education and Training, Public Interest and the Advancement of International Psychology. She is currently the main representative to the United Nations for both APA and the International Council of Psychologists. Dr. Vita C. Rabinowitz is Hunter's 11th Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. Dr. Rabinowitz received her doctorate in psychology from Northwestern University and has spent her entire professional life at Hunter College. She became a faculty member in the Department of Psychology in 1978 and was appointed to CUNY's doctoral program in psychology in 1989. She is a social psychologist by training. The range of her scholarly interests includes the study of women and achievement, gender and health, methodological issues in the study of gender, and dilemmas of helping and coping with adverse outcomes. Jeri A. Sechzer was visiting professor in the Psychology Department at Pace University.
