The urethra is shown to be rent from («) to the apex of the prostate gland: (b, c) are the male and female conductors, which being introduced through the urethra into the bladder, their handles are opened out from (b, c) to (d, e), and then the dilator, the gorget, or the forceps, are wedged in between them. Fig. 5, the explanation of which is given at p. 85, has been omitted, as unnecessary. The drawing of the Aneurism of the Carotid artery, p. 400, was copied from the preparation preserved in spirits. (6) is the condyle of the jaw-bone: (c), some rugged part of the masseter muscle still adhering to it: (
