The arguments over postmodernism are among the most important intellectual debates of our time. Thomas Doherty is professor of english at Trinity College, Dublin. He is the author of Reading (Absent) Character; John Donne Undone; On Modern Authority; and After Theory: Postmodernism/Postmarxism.
