Compagnie d'ostende. La compagnie de commerce nouvellement établie à Ostende par l'empereur, fait grand bruit en Europe. Toutes les nations s'y opposent. On ne voit que mémoires, représentations et remontrances con tre et le Roi a donné une déclaration du 16, enregistrée le 20 août au Parlement, qui défend aux François d'y prendre part, sous peine de francs d'amende et de bannissement pour trois ans, en cas de récidive, et qu'il sera procédé par la voie extraordinaire pour raison des dites peines. II y a aussi une confiscation au fond. La défense s'étend à tous mariniers et ouvriers de s'engager, à peine de confiscation de corps et de biens, suivant l'édit de 1669. Défense aussi de louer ou vendre aucun vais seau pour ce service a peine du carcan et des galères, en cas de récidive. Cette affaire est sérieuse.
