Excerpt from The Eden Tableau, or Bible Object-Teaching: A Study
Japanese legends speak of a combat between the glorious spirit of light-splendor, the Son of Heaven, and his brother, who wished to rob him of his office as ruler of heaven, in which the latter was vanquished and confined in the earth, which was darkened from its previous luminous condition.
It is a fundamental principle of Brahmanical doctrine, that all creatures were originally pure, ethereal, celestial, and long eu joyed their freedom, till one of the highest spirits of heaven, through envy and jealousy, revolted from the Eternal. Then the great Being determined to create the material world, and banish thither the fallen spirits in order to their purification and recovery.
