Excerpt from Report of the Postmaster General: Post-Office Department, Richmond, May 2, 1864
With my report of December 7th, I also submitted detailed estimates of appropriations of the revenues of the Department to be derived from postages for the fiscal year ending June 30th, 1865, of sums amounting, in the aggregate, to three million three hundred and thirty-seven thousand eight hundred and fifty-three dollars and one cent, This appropriation was not then made. These estimates are again herewith submitted, and the appropriation asked for.
