Paperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. This book presents the proceedings of the first annual Dominion Convention of the Army and Navy Veterans in Canada. Held in Winnipeg, Manitoba, in May 1918, this convention marked a significant moment in the history of Canadian veterans' organizations. The convention brought together delegates from across the country to establish a national body representing veterans of the Army, Navy, and Auxiliary Forces. The delegates discussed a wide range of issues, including the composition and structure of the association, membership eligibility, and the role of the organization in advocating for veterans' rights and interests. The convention also elected the first Dominion Executive of the association, which was tasked with implementing the decisions made at the convention and guiding the organization's activities in the years to come. This book provides a valuable historical record of the early days of the Army and Navy Veterans in Canada, and it sheds light on the challenges and opportunities faced by veterans in the aftermath of the First World War.
