Excerpt from L'Appel du Devoir Social

Paperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. This book comprehensively examines 'the social question', a term that broadly addresses ethical and economic issues surrounding inequality between classes in human society. The author, a priest and professor, provides historical context by tracing the concerns raised by social inequality from ancient times to the present day. He highlights the advent of industrialization in the 19th century as the catalyst for a profound shift in the discussion, creating a chasm between the rich and the poor. The author emphasizes the concept of a 'social duty' that transcends charity, arguing that lasting change requires a profound shift in the mindset of individuals and institutions. The book challenges readers to re-examine their own actions, habits, and social interactions to identify opportunities to promote the ethical treatment of all members of society, thereby contributing to an equitable and prosperous society.
