Jusqu'ici on s'est fort peu occup� de la question de l'ac cent oratoire en g�n�ral d'une part et de celle de l'inversion du compl�ment direct en ancien fran�ais de l'autre. Quant au rapport entre cet accent et l'inversion, rapport qui consti tue pr�cis�ment le sujet du pr�sent travail, il ne semble pas qu'il ait jamais �t� �lucid� par les philologues. Et pourtant la question de savoir si, en ancien fran�ais, l'emploi de l'inversion du compl�ment direct avait pour but de mettre en relief tel ou tel membre de phrase, comme on pourrait le supposer a priori, ne laisse pas d'�tre tr�s importante.
