C'est elle en effet qui m'a constamment servi de guide et de modèle dans ma conduite vis a vis des gouvernements, du clergé et des fidèles. Sous ce rapport, ceux qui suivent avec attention les questions religieuses en Suisse, en Belgique et en France liront avec un certain profit quelques unes des pages de ces mémoires, je le désire du moins sincèrement.
